REFLEXOLOGY

Relax your mind, revive your body and restore your inner being.

Reflexology is a non-intrusive and natural holistic therapy based on the principle that different points on the hands, feet and lower legs correspond with specific areas throughout the body. Applying pressure and specialised massage techniques to certain points stimulates energy movement along nerve channels to release blockages, restore balance, relieve stress, promote deep relaxation and optimise overall health and improve overall well-being.

Reflexology is not a one size fits all; I will tailor each session to your condition, which may include:

  • Stress and anxiety
  • Headaches and tension
  • Muscular and joint aches and pains
  • Sleep disorders
  • Digestive issues
  • Hormonal imbalances, menopause and fertility
  • Pregnancy and postnatal care

While Reflexology does not diagnose or prescribe conditions, it can offer many health benefits.

Reflexology health benefits:

  • Reduced stress and anxiety levels
  • Headache and tension relief
  • Improved sleep patterns and relaxation
  • Enhanced mood and energy levels
  • Hormone balance

  • A better sense of well-being.

REFLEXOLOGY

A gentle and natural therapy which can help support and rebalance the body while having some much-needed time out. The treatment is both soothing and relaxing, making it useful for relieving stress and tension as well as encouraging the body to work naturally to restore its own healthy balance.

Benefits of reflexology may include:

  • Relief from tension, stress and anxiety
  • Deep relaxation
  • Improved sleep
  • Enhanced mood and energy levels
  • A general sense of well-being.

It can be helpful for conditions related to stress and anxiety, headaches, tension, muscular and joint aches and pains, sleep disorders, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, menopause symptoms, fertility, pregnancy and postnatal care.

This therapy will be received as you relax on the reflexology or massage couch. Your feet will be cleaned at the start of the treatment, and then a variety of reflexology techniques will be used. Reflexology can be beneficial for people of all ages, and sessions are always tailored to your needs. I am also trained in Chinese Foot Massage, where more in-depth techniques may be incorporated into the routine.

REFLEXOLOGY FOR MENOPAUSE

Reflexology is a natural complementary therapy that can support women in their journey through peri-menopause, menopause and beyond. While each women is unique and may respond differently, reflexology has been found to be very effective in helping both the physical and emotional symptoms of the peri-menopause and menopause.

Some studies have researched the effects of reflexology on a few of the common symptoms when going through the transition of peri-menopause and menopause. One study found a reduction in sleep disorder (1), whilst another investigated the effects of reflexology treatments on hot flushes, sweats, and night sweats, concluding that it may be effective in this problem (2). A third study found that reflexology reduced ‘state’ anxiety and stress (3).

Reflexology at this time may help to regulate the peripheral nervous system, achieved by stimulating the pituitary gland, the hypothalamus and the thymus reflex points. It can also help to reduce stress and relieve tension that can exacerbate many of these symptoms, by working on the pituitary gland, the hypothalamus and the adrenal reflex points.
